Gene died peacefully with Carol and his sons close by. She is
alone for the first time in her life and is feeling adrift. I expect to spend
lots of time with her. Today the Deacon-in-training has asked me to stay after the
service to meet with her and hear her plans. She has assigned steps toward her
ordination and needs lay input. I’ll be one of her support team. I’m good at
support. I’m good at connecting people with other people too
